Texas Beach
After years as a DIY spot, RASA recieved permission to start new construction on the park and expand beyond the footprint of the existing concrete pad. We are expanding and rebuilding some of the existing features and adding new ones—including a China Bank, bowl corner with escalator, and a snow plow hip.
The land was handed over to Richmond Parks and Rec from the James River Conservancy in 2017 and will potentially be the site of a new playground and community garden.

We’re psyched to be working with Parks and Rec, The Maymont Civic League , EnRichmond Foundation, and Kiwanis Club on the revitalization of Texas Beach.

Skate After School
with RVA Sk8 Club
RASA is teaming up with Richmond Parks and Rec to bring RVA Sk8 Club to elementry school students across Richmond. The program we launched in Fall of 2018 makes skateboarding more accessible to young skaters. Volunteers travel to local elementary schools to provide boards, helmets, and kid-sized obstacles for after-school skate sessions.
Stay tuned for developments and contact us if you would like to vounteer or have equipment to donate.
